Note that as you remove your defective keyboard that the 12" model has a grey cable, not the green cable found on the 12" model keyboard - there is a slight difference in fit.
Please note: iBook G3 keyboards are not universal. Apple made two styles for the 12" iBooks. The metal tab along the bottom right edge of the keyboard is different on each (one sticks out noticeably, the other is flush with the long tab on the left). If the tab on the bottom right does not match, the keyboard may not fit in the grooves on your case. This particular keyboard should fit most G3 12" iBooks, but please check the metal tabs on the bottom of your current keyboard to be sure they match.Also you can order this item for less shipping price at http://www.compupart.com
